Trey Calder was a rugged and handsome man. one every woman dreams of. And though he had many ladies, he always felt that one day that one special woman would come his way. That day came when he met Sloan Davis! Davis was bright, pretty and though they had little in common Trey as well as Sloan knew they were perfect for each other.

A short courtship of only a few weeks and then marriage led this couple to start their life at the Triple C. From the start all the Calder's welcomed Sloan into the family and for once Sloan felt she finally belonged. With the upcoming news of the couple expecting their first child, things seemed to be the perfect world. But even perfect worlds have a few gray clouds and this one was no exception. Old enemies have a way of catching up to one and with greed, vengeance to plant seeds of doubt our young couple fall into their hands.

Ms. Dailey as always gives her fans a story filled with passion, romance and human emotions that make her stories come to life. This one is no different. The Calder family built an empire and will protect not only their lands but everything in their lives when the shadows of the past come back to haunt Trey. He must and will do all he can to protect what's his, even at the risk of loosing the woman he loves. Is his love for Sloan stronger than his doubts? Is he willing to save all he has only to lose the woman he loves and his infant son? Is Sloan willing to walk away from not only the man she has ever loved? Is she willing to make one more try to get his love and trust back? The old saying that true love never runs smooth may be seen here but let's remember that the key word is true love. Wonderful story one that is worth reading and readers will fall in love with these chacaters as I did.
