| The last time Cordelia saw her husband, Colonel Asher Brock Hudgins, was just after the battle of Gettysburg. Asher had briefly returned to their Virginia farm for a night of passion that sustained Cordelia and Asher through the long separation of the war. Now one year, eight months and twenty-four days later, General Lee has signed the surrender at Appomattox Courthouse and Cordelia anxiously awaits her husband's return. Keeping a daily vigil Cordelia finally spots Asher one evening coming over the ridge towards home and rushes to meet him. After a joyous and passionate reunion, Cordelia learns how deep her love for Asher truly runs.
From the Amber Quill Press Amber Kisses line this is a beautifully written short erotic romance. The language and imagery of Cordelia and Asher's love was entrancing. Ms. Derouge immediately draws the reader into the intensity of love and passion that exists between Cordelia and Asher. I highly recommend this quick but moving story.
