Sara is having a tough time of it. She can’t seem to do anything right with her fiancé, and she can’t seem to handle the smallest of domestic tasks… at least according to her fiancé. When she’s offered a post in the remote wilderness to study wolves, she decides to jump at the chance even if it ruins her chance at marriage. She’s studied wolves in that area before and found them utterly fascinating. Left on her own for months at a time, she couldn’t be more surprised when her wolves are more special than she ever imagined.

Sarah is a strong character with flaws, something that is always more interesting than the perfect woman. She’s so strong that in some ways that I think she intimidated her fiancé so he had to make her feel stupid, in order to make himself feel better. After all, any woman that could live in the wilderness like she does has to be quite remarkable. I liked Larak and Kam, they were suspicious of her at first and that really made a lot of sense. Hunt is a twisted villain that you really love to hate. I had a bit of time believing that two men who had never had a lover would be quite so good at it, but hey, it’s a story! Call of the Wild is a great story that kept me entertained throughout, with characters that come to life and a great story.
