| Molly is approaching forty five and satisfied with her life. She writes murder mysteries and is a reporter for the local paper. She hasn't been lucky in love and has accepted that, until the love of her life who dumped her for the town princess is back and the new Chief of Police. J.T. McCord apparently wants her back as his personal ads clearly state. Molly has been cheated on, dumped and humiliated twice before and is not sure about giving J.T. a second shot at her heart. But, her neighbor's pet pig has dug up her last husband from the side of her house and she needs J.T. to find out who killed him. In the meantime she can find out if he really has changed.
This is a wonderful story full of quirky characters, a fine mystery, and a great love story between two people who are old enough to know what they want. Molly is rightfully suspicious of J.T., who dated her for seven years and jilted her for a richer prospect. She has grown up a lot in the last twenty years and now writes murder mysteries. J.T. has suffered a life altering experience and has reevaluated his actions, especially towards Molly. The plot is well written and the story moves fast with lots of action and intrigue. Both the mystery and Molly's romance are very exciting. The other residents of Tangled Butte, Minnesota make this book even more enjoyable, from Melvin the pig Houdini to Shirley, the town's social leader and J.T.'s ex. This small town certainly is a lively place.
