| Greta and Rip are paranormal guardian angels called Grimm; their purpose is to protect those who have fallen prey to evil. They are both on assignments when their paths cross again and when they are faced with more than they each bargained for they must join forces to protect or possibly destroy a young woman with special powers. Both Greta and Rip are fairy tale fodder but if they can survive their mission can they find their own happily-ever-after?
I was very excited about the idea for this novel and I really enjoyed this fairy tale with a dark twist. The world that was created was so unique, so compelling in an almost sinister way. I know that Rip is in love with Greta and I am in no doubt of his feelings for her but even though a good portion of the story is told through his eyes I felt as if I never really got to know him. Greta is a fabulous heroine, she is a wounded soul but I found that it just made her more likable and a stronger protector. I felt strangely sad when I finished the last page as if I was missing out on something. I think I just wanted more from this short story, which is a bonus in a novella I believe you should want more. So I'm looking forward to the follow up stories.
