| Candy's Enlightenment is a story about sexual bondage both mental and physical.
It starts out as John picks up working girl waif Candy at a gas station and brings her home to be slave to both he and his wife Kim. Kim has a jealous streak and is happy with the boundaries set by John for the enjoyment of their new toy. Candy is kept on a secluded property but is free to leave at any time. If she stays the month she will receive enough cash to make her life a little easier. The first night Candy disobeys a rule and is fastened to rings on the wall with silk ties. She eats one meal at the table and then is told she will be eating at John's feet and sleeping at the foot of the bed unless she disobeys which then she will be tied to the wall. However she is still free to leave at anytime. The story evolves in John and his wife finding their love strengthened by the presence of their slave and the fact Kim must overcome her jealousy and trust John not to overstep the bounds with Candy. The problem with Candy's Enlightenment is that John as a Dominant is not a forceful personality and certainly in one day could not have the mental hold on Candy to compel her to stay after being tied to the wall her first night…nor after hearing the rules of her having to be naked at all times…her reaction was an accepting unrealistic 'okay.' The dialogue was stilted and too proper even after the trio become intimately involved and the girls seem to giggle at every remark John makes. For a full-length book Candy's Enlightenment does not firmly establish the mental/physical bond between Dominator, Submissive and Slave leaving it hazy in the understanding on why Candy and Kim would obey John as he comes across as lazy and weak not commanding and strong. John is more Beta in personality so therefore portraying him as Master to two women is a lofty goal for the author to take on; one unfortunately which is not met. And John doesn't come across with a charming personality to appeal as a suave and debonair master of mind control. The end tries to redeem this fault and ties up the story nicely but the twist doesn't quite fit and more shocks than satisfies.
