| Simone has been a prisoner in her cousin's castle ever since the attack. Once, on a full moon, she attacked her cousin. Instead of dying, he became like her, and now her imprisonment is even more guaranteed.
Her father desperately seeks a cure for her, but meanwhile she remains trapped and at her cousin's mercy. And the mercy of the curse. Once a month, every month, she can no longer control her animal, and it takes over her body and mind to the point where she doesn't even know what has happened during that time period, except by what her cousin tells her. I did not enjoy this story. Knowing it wasn't of a long length, I didn't expect it to have a lot of plot, but that wasn't what bothered me. The heroine wasn't a very likable character. She stayed in this prison because her father wanted her there, even though it was horrible. Her cousin was very cruel to her, and instead of standing up for herself, she sulks and retreats to her room hungry. A lot. I could not relate to this heroine nor her actions, so I didn't like her. I didn't understand why the entire story was in her POV until the very end when it changed. We were left not knowing if she was happy with her new situation or not. I'm rating this low because this story was listed as a romance, but that label was incorrect. There is no romance between Simone and any of the other characters in the story. In fact, there is a full blown rape, and there was no real warning of that in the blurb or on the website.
