The women of Talone are free to choose their husbands; that is except for Finola. Finola’s father is king of Talone and he uses her as a pawn to be traded as he sees fit. That is how she finds herself on the run. She has been promised to King Lacombe of Hamre and she will do anything to avoid this fate. But to her horror she is soon captured by some of King Lacombe’s men. That is when her problems really begin, but it only gets worse when she finds herself suddenly drawn to her handsome, masked captor, who is determined to bring her to his king, untouched.

Blaire and his men have just captured Princess Finola, their king’s bride to be. But when he finds himself drawn to this beautiful spitfire, his world will be turned up side down. Unfortunately, he is duty bound to turn her over to the King, completely pure and he is determined to do just that, his honor demands it, even though his body tells him to claim her, to make her his.

Is their any hope for a love, when one is promised to another? Can Blaire save Finola only to hand her over to someone else? Or will their attraction for one another, destroy them both?

This was an excellent story, which is so well written and entrancing. I was hooked from the beginning as I anxiously turned the pages to find out what would happen next. The characters are wonderful, Blaire is a handsome, scarred, honorable hero, that is every woman’s fantasy and Finola is just the princess to keep him in line. This is such an action packed love story that has it all, hot sex, love, betrayal and even death. I would not recommend this to someone who is faint of heart as it does have a little violence and some same sex or forced sex scenes. I however, I loved it all and will add it to my keeper shelf.
