| Lady Claudine Asherton was missing; it was presumed that she had been sold into slavery when her traveling party was slaughtered and she disappeared. In the East, blond hair and pale skin would fetch a lot of money! Francois Minaret, on his horse Lucifer, had been tracking her for a year. His responsibility was to find her and return her to her betrothed. Her father and betrothed were both too old to search for her, so he had been recruited for the job.
On an auction block, Lady Claudine was sold to a short, fat merchant who was thrilled with his luck; six months later, Minaret passed through the same town, same auction, and rescued a young man who was the stolen son of Sharif al Thamir, the Sultan of Bandar. He also made a friend of a young man, David; this acquaintance would, of course, be invaluable later. This book is an extremely detailed story with many characters that are easily tractable and very important to the storyline. Ms. Eileen Ann Brennan has an interesting way of sharing her narrative. The sex is steamy and frequent; it is open and extremely graphic! Captured is filled with suspense, danger and violence. Even though those are not characteristics of my choice of reading material, I thoroughly enjoyed the book; it was not offensive. Captured is a sequel to Betrayed, but is also a wonderful stand-alone book. Ms. Brennan has an inspired manner of sharing her stories. I am sure that readers will be thrilled with this book and I recommend it wholeheartedly.
