Since the outbreak of Lycanthropy, the world is a different place. Some have succumbed to the disease and become werewolves, while others have been affected in different ways.

Maya Blake has escaped the hospital, only to be tracked down and re-captured by government mercenaries. Adam Shepherd is a soldier - and a man who hates werewolves. He and Maya survive a werewolf attack and are running for their lives. For Adam, that means returning Maya to the hospital. But Maya vows to never go back. They can't deny the chemistry they feel, but will that chemistry ignite into something more?

Captured was a great twist on the "traditional" werewolf story. I thought the author did an excellent job of weaving details seamlessly into the story and "showing" us a different world, not simply "telling" us how it was. Maya was just the right blend of strength and vulnerability in my opinion. She didn't just sit back and bemoan her fate, she was active and moving forward, trying to do something to change her life and save her sister.

Adam was definitely the strong, alpha-male type but with enough sensitivity to make you feel for him and the tragic things he's experienced. Ms. Hancock did a fantastic job of showing the inner struggle of this hardened soldier. He feels honor bound to return Maya, but his growing feelings for her make that impossible.

There is a mysterious character named John Holden who has a bit of a past with Adam and shares a very hot love scene with Maya and Adam. I'm hoping to read his story in the future. Captured is accurately described as a paranormal erotic romance. But it's also a great action/suspense story. I really enjoyed this book.
