Victoria ‘Tory’ Townsend is an author at the crossroads. Her husband has left her, taking all of their money. She has writer’s block, is angry and is learning to fend for herself. If she can’t write she has no income to live on except royalty checks from previous work. She’s talking to herself about her frustrations when she starts getting answered. After searching the house and finding no one she realizes that the cardboard replica of her hero from a previous set of books has come to life.

Wild Geese is the story Tory writes as she is building a new, erotic character for her hero to add facets to him that he didn’t have in the restricted older romances. As her hero comes to life and offers her unconditional love she finds her life changing, breaking out of the boundaries set by a 15 year marriage and her career. Aided by her agent Elaine and her brother who steal the storyline away from her sometimes, she finds a real-life hero.

If the Prologue to this doesn’t get you hook, line and sinker into this story I’d be surprised. Ms. Morgen’s work has never failed to captivate me and this one is no exception. She’s writing three books in one which is a feat in itself as she ties a file called ‘Bodyguard‘ to the other two and joins them all together to make what the teenagers might call a totally awesome story. Her writing shines with a twist of humor, a mystery about what became of Tory’s ex, lots of love, lust and excellent characters. Finishing up with Wild Geese at the end was a little much but she fleshed it out to make a complete story of it, to add details and give her cardboard hero an ending he deserved.
