| Princess Lilly's wish for love goes slightly awry when she doesn't choose her words carefully. As a result, she is kidnapped by Sir Gawain without hope of escape since he follows the Kidnapping of Damsel Laws in her abduction. He plans to use all the seduction techniques he knows to melt her resistance with pleasure and get her to accept him as her husband.
It is evident from the very beginning that this is not the usual damsel in distress tale. Lilly is not a simpering female afraid of everything. Instead, she is an outspoken woman who faces whatever life, or her fairy godmother, throws at her head on, including Sir Gawain and his attempts to seduce her. Sir Gawain is the perfect mix of the tough, take charge, overbearing male and the tender, passionate lover. He is exactly what Lilly needs, and he takes pains to prove it to her. The attraction between them is undeniable and it doesn't take much for the sparks flying between them to become a fire any time they are together. Nick Howard has written a very entertaining, tongue-in-cheek medieval romance. All of the rituals regarding the Kidnapping of Damsels are pretty amusing, especially when things get complicated. This is definitely a fun story that anyone who enjoys knights, and has an irreverent sense of humor, will enjoy.
