| Tatiana's grandfather tells her if she wants to keep her beloved ranch, she has to get married. She thought to outwit her wiley grandfather by marring a death row inmate; she would get married and not have the husband to deal with. Only there is a mistake and instead of marring the prisoner she chooses, she marries author Sam Phoenix. Now he's moved next door and wants to make their marriage a real one. But Tatiana is against it. Or is she?
Sam never says a word when the woman comes into the jail and after one brief interlude marries him. Never once does he try to tell her who he really is and why he's there. Now months have passed and after extensive research, Sam has moved next door with his little girl and wants to make his marriage real in every way. Tatiana resists at first, but it's not long before Sam and his little girl have her melting in every way. I liked this book. Tatiana's idea of marrying a death row inmate is hilarious, even funnier is the fact that after all the trouble she goes through she doesn't outwit her grandfather and she winds up with a husband in the end. Sam is infatuated with Tatiana and is hell bent on teaching her a lesson and making their marriage real. Another small fact is that the heroine and the author both have the same name. For a novel packed full of laughs and drama, this is the perfect read.
