This is a really cute story. It isn't until Debra and Maddox meet each other that their destiny kicks in, and with a vengeance too for Debra and Maddox together are part of an ancient family history that is embroiling them in more than they ever imagined. Debra is funny, intelligent, and underestimates her appeal. Maddox is the walking embodiment of Debra's fantasy man and she just wants a little taste of the wild side but she gets more than she anticipated. When an evil rogue wolf shifter starts targeting Debra she must use every bit of everything she has ever been told about her magic to defend herself. And Maddox has no intention of standing by and letting her take on the rogue by herself. The surprise in the story is who the rogue turns out to be and just what it is he wants from Debra! I loved the suspense, the romance, and the steamy sensations that Debra and Maddox set off in each other every time they get near each other. This is the first book I can remember reading by Ms. Carsen but it will not be my last. I love her sense of humor and the irony she uses to enhance her story. If you like a good shifter romance with humor and charm, you'll enjoy Carolina Wolf!
