| Coco Dalton has been a photo-journalist in areas where most of us would fear to tread. Grant Warwick has built his security company to the point where he's known throughout the world. Their intense affair three years ago haunts their memory day and night. Thrown together again in Venice on a job both will be working doesn't happen by chance. Coco needs him to protect her as much as they need each other emotionally.
Cerise DeLand pens a highly erotic who-done-it. We get to travel the world from Venice to Paris then Jerusalem as they try to track down the terrorist who wants her dead before he succeeds. Dead bodies seem to litter their travels. Scenarios in some well known cities aren't redundant but bring the people and places alive. Coco and Grant are well developed characters who seem to have a forgiving streak when they meet after years of wishing, hoping and pouting. The bad guys fit in well with public perceptions of terrorists and nasty people who have some surprises in store for all of us along the way. Some of the secondary characters are just as nasty for different reasons. Coco's contact at a secondary job she fell into due to her photo-journalism popularity shouldn't have any good reason for her behavior. She manages to be a person who makes us grit out teeth anyway. These main characters are easy to like no matter how skinny and gorgeous she may be or how rich and handsome with a heart of gold he is. DeLand does a good job keeping us guessing and searching for clues with many side trips for eroticism between Coco and Grant.
