Celia Fussell's father, Baron Hailstone, dies and sends her life in a downward spin. Not only is she reduced to the poor, spinster sister to her brother and his horrid wife, but she is convinced she will live a life of dreary spinsterhood. When her father's will is read, Celia learns of her inheritance of the Castle of Wolfenbach located deep in the Black Forest. To claim the castle, Celia must marry one of the Wolfenbach sons and by doing so will return the property to the ancestral family. Fenris von Wolfenbach is the master of the castle and the brother Celia ends up marrying. Instead of the joy she expects from her marriage to Fenris, Celia encounters a bitter, angry man supposedly deformed by the war. What Celia doesn't count on is the way in which Fenris avoids his new bride and how unworthy he thinks himself of her. Fenris does everything in his power to drive Celia away from him and any chance of love she may offer. Instead it drives Celia to show Fenris how happy they can be together, even with his life in danger from dark forces around him.

Castle of The Wolf was an enjoyable read from beginning to end. The setting being in Germany made for a nice, refreshing change from the typical English surroundings. Ms. Schwab does a wonderful job with descriptive details throughout the whole story. Celia comes across as a very strongwilled woman who gets very creative in her attempts to bring brightness into her husband's dark world. Fenris is a dynamic character and the touch of paranormal surrounding him makes him even more intriguing. Celia will not back down from her husband's dark side and both help the other put the past behind each other. This story is a treat and highly recommended to those wanting an entertaining, captivating read.
