| Laura Adams is a cop looking to advance her career. Being shipped to the small town of Middlemarch wasn’t what she had in mind. Getting involved with the wrong man sidetracked her career and she refuses to do that again. Jonno Campbell is a leopard shifter. When Laura arrests him, thinking him a thief, Jonno believes he has found his mate in the feisty woman. Passions escalate as Jonno tries to convince her to be his mate. But a band of thieves and an ex-boyfriend stand in his way. Will Jonno be able to win his lady?
Another great story in the Middlemarch Mates Series. I’ve greatly enjoyed reading about the Mitchell men and their women over the years and this book is no exception. Even though Jonno is not one of the Mitchell’s, he is one of their best friends and a lot like them. He’s a strong dominate male that would cherish his mate once he found her. Laura is independent and strong willed and not used to a man taking care of her. So when she meets Jonno and they become involved, those special little touches and the little things he does for her leave her speechless. Their relationship is full of cute moments like that, but it is also full of heat and loads of sensuality. The sexual chemistry between them is volatile. It doesn’t take much more than a heated look between them to get things started in the bedroom, the kitchen or wherever they find themselves at that moment. A heart-stopping event produces a major climax in the plot that you won’t see coming. The story line is full of adventure while trying to track down thieves, dealing with ex’s, and meeting with crazy friends. This book is another wonderful addition to a unique series of exciting stories on shifters that I definitely recommend reading.
