Police Officer Ryan Lerner had just suffered not one, but two, undercover cases which turned out badly. His superior, Sergeant Carelli, wanted him to take a six-week leave of absence and recuperate. However, Ryan was obsessed with a jewelry theft case involving a beautiful caramel-colored woman named Ajana Bennett. All the men in the Department wanted this case, but Ryan convinced his Sergeant to let him have it while he took an extended vacation.

On Halloween evening, Ryan threw the case file into the front seat and drove away from his place of work. He needed to get home in time to pass out candy to the kids in the neighborhood. As he neared his home, he had a gun stuck to the back of his head. He was forced into the garage and then into his home and then, using his own hardware, was cuffed to his easy chair. He’d been bested by a small woman for whom the entire police force was searching. Now she sat in his living room calling all the shots.

Ms Marie Rochelle has once again captivated my attention. Oh my goodness! What a book. I have thoroughly enjoyed everything I’ve read of hers. This one, nevertheless, absolutely was a shocker to me. This book goes beyond anything I’ve previously read. The interracial aspects are present. The sensual scenes are scorching, as I’ve come to expect. Rochelle sets a high standard with her characterizations. Whether many or, in this case, few people involved, the dynamics of her personalities is explosive.

This book, as most of hers, is not for the faint of heart. The sex is well-written and there is a fabulously-written storyline to go with it. The book is a solid hit and extraordinary beginning to a new series. I highly recommend this book. This would even make a remarkable first-Rochelle read. It’s intense and addictive.
