Patrice is a very efficient person who spends her time planning other people's weddings. Her days are filled with making sure the detail of everyone's special days are perfect, and she's good at it. Only, she goes home at night to an empty apartment. She's not a happy woman, but she is driven to succeed at work. Enter Cafe Midnight, a place that fills more than just your order. Staffed with changelings, they fill your heart's desire.

The premise of this story is very interesting. In ordering a cup of tea or coffee, the customer is really describing their soul mate. Patrice's first two encounters with Kai leave her baffled. He's the perfect mystery man. Once she unmasks him, he becomes the perfect mate. He cooks, cleans, massages, runs baths, and reads her mind. He's the epitome of the perfect mate.

I liked the magic of the plot, and I liked the characters Ms. Renquist created. Even the supporting characters were likeable. The plot rushes by a little fast in some places. I would have liked more time to get to know Kai and figure out what he gets out of making Patrice a happy woman. I'd also like to know exactly what about Kai made Patrice fall for him. There's enough meat for a larger story, but readers looking for something quick, interesting, and unique will love this little gem.
