Chance Encounter is about Jase and Matt. They run into each other again after ten years of very little contact. They are both still in love with each other one but neither is sure of what the other one is feeling. Jase wants to be cautious because he does not want to just be a fling, or have Matt decide that the town and him aren't what he wants. They are both looking for the missing boys that were taken out of Rafe's Nightclub. Matt is a cop and Jase a private investigator. Jase is looking for his brother and he does not really trust Matt to be open with him.

This story was written really well. It flowed smoothly and the plot is well written. The story seems to focus more on the action and finding the missing boys than it does on the relationship between Matt and Jase. I would have liked to have seen more of the byplay and working out of the relationship between Jase and Matt. The characters were interesting and they had good reasons for what they were doing. Matt and Jase sort of picked up where they left off in a way but I would have liked to have seen more dialogue between them. The dialogue is good and not repeating of itself. There were some emotions in this story but not that were overtly expressed or shown very much. Personally I would have liked for some more feelings and emotions to have been shown between Matt and Jase but they were working on a case with Matt undercover. Matt and Jase do have sex but not often and it is not overly explicit. You are told what is going on but it is not overly drawn out. I enjoyed reading the story and wish that it was longer with more of the relationship aspect in the center.
