Sabra Bennett was a 20-year old woman married to an abusive, wealthy banker. They really didn’t have much in common. However, she still was shocked when she walked into their bedroom and found Desmond in bed with their house maid, Julie. Her anger resulted in Desmond’s death—she assumed. She hurriedly packed a bag, got money from his safe, and caught the first train out of Boston.

The long trip from Boston to Denver took several days. She met Rusty Paladin, a young man who was travelling to meet his brother, Grey. He was to make his home with his big brother and his sister-in-law. When they arrived in Denver, Grey and his friend, Irishman Noah Tucker, were there to get Rusty. They had a several-days’ trip to get to their homes in Gumption by wagon. She went with the three men to their hometown. Sabra and Tucker became sexually aware of each other almost instantly.

Once again, Ms. Coverstone has lived up to her high writing standards. She quickly became a favourite to me. Her historical books are a joy to read. Again I became instantly engrossed in her storytelling abilities. Coverstone’s characterizations are multi-faceted. I felt deeply from page one that Sabra would be a vibrant heroine and I was definitely not disappointed. The chemistry between the two main characters was brilliant. Again I found myself glued to the book. I simply couldn’t put it down.

The myriad of supporting characters made this story more interesting. There was even a hint of the upcoming book in this series. The ending was definitely unexpected. I was thrilled with the way the book ended.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys historical romance with a great plot and storyline.
