| This Anthology is made up of three stories from the above mentioned authors. Savage Scavenge, the first tale, continues another story by MaryJanice called Beggarman, Thief, and opens with the announcement of the upcoming marriage between that stories two main characters, Mitchell Hunter and Jamie Day. The time period is now 3 months later. The year is 2072 and mutes and norms "survive" together rather than live and work together. The many misconceptions regarding mutants leave them fairly well restricted to their area of living with relatively little interaction among "Norms".
Dr. Gladys Loder is a doctor, running a medical clinic, who treats mutants and knew Jamie. She is very surprised to hear who Jamie is planning to marry, taking into account the fact that Mitchell and Jamie come from two very different backgrounds. Gladys is even more surprised a few hours later, by an unexpected visit from Jasper "Jaz" Savage bursting through her patio door, saying that he needs her help. He is a good looking but fresh mouthed mute, and the two immediately rub each other the wrong way, sparks flying left and right. It turns out that he has a surprise for her, and once she discovers this then decides to pull a surprise on him....and is Jaz in for a shock. This short tale can easily stand alone and it did pique my curiousity about the story of Mitchell and Jamie, which I plan on now reading. An enjoyable story. Seducing the Saint, the second tale, is the story of Dr. Liberty Wainwright and Brady St. James, known as the Saint, and opens with Liberty searching for Brady, needing & wanting him to aid in finding her father, Sterling. Six years before, she had walked out on Brady. The two first met as teenagers and as adults their love affair was so hot and full of passion that Liberty had at one point begun to feel overwhelmed and had left him. Their relationship had suffered under the different viewpoints each held for moral and work ethic. Being again in proximity sparks the flame that re-ignites their fire. Both now realize that feelings for the other are, if possible, even stronger than in the past. The adventure they embark upon, the characters they meet will ultimately enable them to open up ....and are they in for a surprise, too. This story was fun reading, and the twist in plot and characters, make an enjoyable sexy but also romantic tale. Carte Blanche, the third tale, begins with the story of an older woman named Liana, formerly of Old Earth, shipped away on a colony ship as a child, saved as the Earth was dying, and eventually landing on Paradyse. She had even as a child been able to "see" in the future, and her life has been shaped in teaching another child with "seeing" tendencies, Chastity. When an intrigue is set into place, and Liana sends Chastity to investigate, knowing full well that this situation is the key to Chastitys future ...BUT WAIT... now begins a "sexy romping" story and does it heat up quickly .... I must confess, the description of Darian presented a wonderful picture in my mind, luscious....as I read this story I imagined it as a cross between a historical and a futuristic, even though the author may or may not have intended this, and the image mixed made for me definitely a fun, sexy tale, and the sex is hot.
