Brady O’Neill was a Grand Prix racer until his almost-fatal accident. He left the circuit and moved into the home of his twin sister, Dealla, her husband Reggie, and Payton, their son. Brady had been engaged until he woke up in the hospital after his wreck. His fiancée couldn’t handle him without the excitement of the racing world. When he returned to his hometown to live with Dealla, he had plans to open a car shop if, and when, his leg healed. He still walked with a marked limp, but he was better. Now Dealla was concerned that he needed to find a woman to date. She sent Payton to the store with him and Payton was dressed in a tee shirt which stated he was a Chick Magnet.

Madison McCullough was not interested in a man with a child. After being engaged to Charles, she discovered he was using her as a babysitter while he pursued other women. Sparks definitely flew between Brady and Madison but she was determined to never allow herself to be in that same situation again. She had a full life with her job as an attorney with Legal Aid. She worked almost all the time on her cases—especially the one she currently was involved with, custody of Lucy’s young son.

Mary Martinez has written a spell-binding saga of two individuals who were, while attracted to each other, scared to get involved with anyone else. They both were afraid of being hurt again. These two characters were so believable. Their pasts had made them the skeptics they were. Their friends and family members were such great support for them. The storyline was packed with controversy and suspense.

There were many characters involved and they all complimented each other. Well, they did unless they were the villainy type. This couple was attracted to each other and found their true feelings quickly. I cannot say this doesn’t happen because I know it does. The support group was so interesting that I couldn’t put the book down. I highly recommend this book to all.
