Alexis was forced on a dare to do a body shot with the male of the bride’s choosing at a bachelorette party. She hadn’t dated in over two years and her friends were constantly trying to fix her up with a man. The bride chose an Adonis who was more than willing to help. The problem was he is so darned sexy he awakened things in Alexis she’d forgotten she had. He was everything she’d ever dreamed of in a man. Gareth Ambrocio, twelve hundred year old Arachnid Clan Patriarch claimed ‘First Right’ almost before he realized what he was saying. He claimed her as his mate right then and there. He was able to sense something about her the younger vampires couldn’t, otherwise they wouldn’t have given up without a challenge. Unfortunately, the Outcasts, vampires who kill humans for the power to walk in the sun, have recognized what Alexis is and they are after her in spades. Can Gareth convince her she needs his protection without scaring her away?

Chosen is the sexiest, most fun Guardians’ League book yet. Gareth is a new character to the series, but Eli is a secondary character and Diego has a cameo. Several new secrets are revealed about Eli and vampires in this episode that add interest. There is plenty of action and lots of the very erotic, stimulating sex this series is known for. A new character is introduced whom Eli blames for causing his curse that created vampires in the beginning, but not much more is revealed about her except that Eli wants to kill her. Gareth sends her with Ronin, whom we know from past episodes, to Diego in San Francisco to get them out of sight. Gareth is so strong, sensitive and such a wonderful lover that I wanted him for myself. Alexis is a strong woman who won’t go down without a fight, but she can’t hold her own against vampires. Gareth brings out her sensual side and together they are a perfect couple. This book can be read as a stand alone story. I recommend it to everyone, even if you don’t ordinarily like vampire stories. Chosen and the rest of the Guardians’ League books are not to be missed.
