Alessandra was suppose to meet with Nicole on Christmas Eve, to celebrate together, only Alessandra never showed. Nicole tried every way she could to find him, or at least find out if he was okay. She called the Embassy and asked for him. A man by the name of Count Stefano Volpi told her no such man worked there and if he did it would be best for her to forget him.

Nicole is broken hearted. She fell so madly in love with Alessandra that she didn’t think she could go on. Why did he leave her? Nicole starts to doubt herself, how could she have been so wrong about him? She could have sworn by the way he touched her, caressed her skin and made passionate love to her that he felt it too. No man would ever be able to touch her that way again.

One year later Nicole finds herself reassigned to Naples. The last place she wanted to be. This place is too much of a reminder of Alessandra. She never heard from him again, for all she knew he was dead. Why does that still hurt so much? To Nicole’s surprise as the weeks went by she started feeling at peace with herself again. And just when she notices her heart beating again a voice from the past calls her name. Pulling her back into all the pain she had hoped never to feel again.

What possible reason could Alessandra give that would ease the pain she felt? Lisa Marie Rite has written a delightful love story that is full of Christmas magic and a joy to read. I totally recommend it.
