| Joleigh Nelson loved Spencer Thompkin. Five years ago, his parents caused their breakup and Spencer never knew it. He also didn't know he was a father. He moved to Dallas and never returned until his sick father made a request he couldn't ignore. Spencer had no idea his father was setting him up for a mess. When he went to serve eviction papers at her place of business, Joleigh and Spencer, as well as Harper, almost five years old, came face to face. Spencer left—screaming and shouting!
Ms. Lyncee Shillard has written a good page turner which was fast-paced as well as highly emotional. This short book was packed full of information concerning the happenings of this couple. It actually seemed much longer, until the end. The very ending of the book was rushed, I felt. However, it was full of surprises and well written. This couple were faced with obstacles which eventually were explained. I actually liked the manner in which she wrote and divulged the details. Shillard's secondary characters were either very good or very bad. Either way, they were well expanded. The sensuality was evident, but it was more implied than graphic. The actions of all the characters were understandable. I'll admit, I shed a few tears. It was a poignant look at double-crossed lovers. I recommend this book to others. It was well written and interesting. I look forward to reading more by this author.
