On Christmas Eve 1855, Katie and Daniel received the best Christmas present either had ever been given. The night started out with a horrendous snow storm, a deserted town, and stew that was good and hot. Katie, known as Katherine Rose, Madam, also known as Mary Kaye Dowd, had been on the run for six years. She killed her abusive husband when he decided he would kill their son and then her. She had been running since. Daniel, half-breed Sheriff of Campaign, Kansas, had known who Katie was for the two years she had been in his town. He hid the wanted poster because he was in love with her. On the other hand, Katie had “had” many men, but had loved Daniel from afar for the whole two years she had been in this town.

The snow storm was so bad and the wind was blowing so hard that the townspeople had deserted the town trying to outrun this disaster. They believed that they were alone in this deserted town until buildings started burning! They both knew that someone was after them, Daniel was shot trying to defend Katie and things just kept getting worse.

Ms. Janette Kenny is an incredible author, who presents this story in a fast-paced manner which makes the book hard to put down! The love scenes are believable and intense; they are not explicit, but important to the story. Christmas Showdown is a story of love and intense commitment to affection between two people who shared a common feeling of dedication even though they had never before been together. I believe you will love this story and I heartedly recommend it!
