Jon Barnett works for The Damask Circle a group that hunts evil vampires, shapeshifters, witches and any other supernatural forces. Jon has been injured and in some manner has connected with Maddie Smith and needs her help. He must convince Maddie to come out of her shell and give up her fear to help him, or he will die. Maddie thinks she is seeing a ghost until Jon tells her that her nephew might be in danger. Maddie at first doesn’t believe him until her nephew just disappears in the middle of the night, when this occurs Maddie believes that Jon might be real and his story true. So Maddie goes to rescue Jon and to save her nephew.

Jon wants to send Maddie away after he is rescued but she refuses to leave until her nephew is safe. When Jon realizes that Maddie is clairvoyant he uses the information to hopefully find Evan and the other teenager that is missing. But Maddie has another secret power and this one could cause both of their deaths since she hasn’t learned to control it. Will Maddie be able to control her powers against a very powerful, evil sorceress who uses the teenagers to stay youthful and who has had centuries to perfect her powers?

This is a very powerful story with witchcraft, shapeshifters, and very exciting psychic abilities. I highly recommend this story if you love a good paranormal. The suspense is thrilling and there is lots of action and adventure. Ms. Arthur has a done an awesome job developing her characters Maddie and Jon are very strong, as well as the supporting characters especially Maddie’s nephew Evan and the Jon’s FBI friend Mack. She also has created some very scary powerful enemies. This one has lots of exciting twists and turns. Grab it now and sit back for lots of adventure.
