Saebin was captured by a group of scientists and has been programmed to kill. She's managed to override her programming, but has decided to keep it a secret until she knows what's going on. She's woken up in a strange place, under the care of someone who she believes is her old handler, and she wants to leave no matter how she has to do it. That's when she lets her training take over and attempts to get out of the hell she finds herself in. In the middle of her escape, she meets Lyrik; a man she finds herself strangely attracted to. She continues to let him think that she is still programmed, until she sees just what he wants.

When Lyrik meets Saebin, she's intent upon getting out of the lab that they had placed her in to recover. While they had rescued her from a horrible situation, it's been hard to control the woman she has become since her programming. Everyone wants to eliminate her, but Lyrik wants to give her a chance to survive. After all she's been through; she at least deserves that. When he finally meets her, Lyrik feels an attraction to her that's hard to resist, but can she overcome her programming?

Unfortunately, the characters didn't really click with me, and I couldn't get into the story. There was a lot of jumping around from storyline to storyline in this book, and perhaps it was one of the things that distracted me from the central story. Lyrik and Saebin didn't seem like real characters to me, and I thought Saebin trusted Lyrik too easily after what she had been through. I think that for the right person it has a lot of promise, because there is action galore, and Saebin is a strong woman, my favorite kind of character. While this story might not have been for me, I think that someone else would really enjoy it because of the action and the attraction between Lyrik and Saebin, even under the desperate circumstances they find themselves in. I would also highly recommend reading the others in the series, or you won't really understand what is going on with Saebin.
