For years he visited her dreams, first starting when she was a teenager, her fantasy lover with his sexy body, blond hair, stunning eyes and captivating style. But now middle-aged Trista finds herself once again thrown into her dream fantasy complete with the body of a young woman and in the arms of her lover. But this isn't a fantasy and Rurik the Conqueror might not be from Earth, but he is real and he has come to claim his mate once and for all. The threat of her safety and war were the only things that kept him from staking his claim many years ago, but no more. Rurik needs Trista in his life, for it is her love that completes his world. Dangers from unknown forces are stalking Rurik, Trista and his Svendian crew and time is running out. Rurik isn't about to give up, he will fight to protect the woman who is the world to him.

Author Elle Amour creates an interestingly stimulating plot complete with action, danger, love and a touch of humor to keep the reader entertained. By using vivid and dynamic descriptions the author allows the reader to conjure up the imagery almost as if they were watching a movie. Jam-packed with an innovative and twisty-turny plot as well as the numerous secondary characters will have the reader flipping pages to see what they missed. The huge shifts in the story highlighting the secondary character's own love life pulls the reader away from concentrating on the hero and heroine. With Claimed being the first book in the Mate Seekers series the author seems to be using this book as a stepping stone for future books in the series and has crammed too much into one book for the reader to fully be able to enjoy Trista and Rurik like they should.

Rurik of the Svendian people and Trista from Earth are multi-dimensional, strong and charming characters who create a passionate romance. At times the tension as well as the bond between the hero and heroine feels off, largely in part due to the complicated shifts in the story as well as the lack of character development. Trista's continuously battle between waking up to a fantasy world and returning back to reality grows might grow tiresome to some readers after awhile. The scenes of sensual delights between Rurik and Trista have a little sexy sizzle to it, but readers who enjoy a story with steamy sex will be disappointed.
