|On a trip to Salem with her girlfriends, photojournalist Jael doesn't just choose a rock in a Wiccan shop, she chooses her destiny. Deciding to humor the owner of the shop , Jael digs through a wish bag of stones until she finds the one that feels right to her. When she finally pulls it out, it's an odd egg-shaped rock that looks like two halves fused together into one with one side a purple and the other a dusty rose. Jael is a skeptic, but she's also willing to give anything a try after the dry spell her love life has been going through. Well that is unless you count the fantasies she's having about her boss Roarke and co-worker Kypton. Little does she know that a dream assignment to Mount Kilimanjaro will bring her more than she could ever dreamed, including more danger.
This was a really fun book with a very different take on the usual shifter romance. To me it seemed to have a much more mysticism than others with a tiny bit of sci-fi thrown in, and it was wonderfully woven into a hot ménage love story. This is the second book in the Bag Of Tricks series, each featuring one of the group of girlfriends and their search for love. But the books can easily be read on their own. Jael was a fun character to watch develop from an ambitious but insecure skeptic to a confident, determined woman. With the love and support she finds from her two very unusual men. I also really enjoyed the history of the Marduko that we get in the story. After reading this story by Ms. Skyze and Ms. Leon, I'm going to have to go back and read the first story along with watching for more in the series!
