Kate Appleton and Mason Cooper were engaged to be married; they had been engaged for about a year and had been living, for the past 6 months, in his parents’ guesthouse on their estate. The more Mason’s mother pushed Kate with wedding issues, the more Mason worked excessively, and the less time they spent as a couple. Kate was unsure whether it was just a temporary setback or if Mason had lost interest.

With the wedding just one week away, the pressure just escalated! Mason’s cousin, Bryce Cooper, was handling the landscapinghe was spending more and more time with Kate and she did not like it, or him! He became obnoxious, making passes at Kate which, in turn, made her very uncomfortable. Whenever Mason came into the room, it seemed that Bryce was always touching Kate!

It seemed that this couple had been in love for 20 of their 30 living years! Now, all of a sudden, the passion was missing. Both Kate and Mason were aware of the tension, but neither knew what to do to negate the problems. There are several twists and turns in this quick-paced book. The questions concerning their basic relationship have to be dealt with, as well as the interruption of “Cousin” Bryce.

The plot is well developed and the characters are realistic. I’m sure that you will be pleased when you see who decides to be responsible for Claiming Kate!
