Kristen, the sister of the Narin Alpha, let hunger overcome her good sense one night and visited a grocery store in Covenanter territory only to find herself face to face with an inebriated Covenanter wolf. Covenanters can enthrall a female with their musk and Kristen has no intention of being a sex toy to two Neanderthal wolves, so she runs. Jakob and Kort know that this is no ordinary attraction; Kristen is their mate. This claiming is going to cause all sorts of problems, not only between the two packs, but between two arrogant wolves and a very independent woman who does not want to give up her freedom or her career to meet the needs of two hungry wolves.

This is a story that I will definitely be reading again soon. The author has a gift for creating strong characters who will inevitably clash repeatedly on their way to true love. The struggles are often amusing as Ms. Penn's heroines are always smarter and more creative than their men realize. Kort and Jakob start out the story just a little too arrogant for their own good and gradually realize that they can't just take Kristen out of her life and make her a dutiful mate. The subplot of Lilly Masterson's investigation is intriguing and only hints at a story to come, but adds a little more tension to Kristen's relationship with her two mates. I always love a story between strong willed main characters and Ms. Penn's enhanced version of this previously released story definitely fills the bill. It has everything needed to keep me interested; a great story, hot love scenes, not one but two alpha heroes, and a heroine who keeps them off balance.
