|Shayla and Rory already know that they are mates and Rory has already bitten her. Shayla ran from him and is only coming back for her cousin's wedding. She is going to do her best to avoid him but that plan fails very quickly. Rory is in the wedding party and she sees him quickly and is drawn to him very strongly. Rory comes for her as soon as he sees her and carries her over his shoulder out the church and claims her again. She doesn't fight him and he takes her back to his house. Shayla is pregnant and is not sure how she wants to handle Rory.
I love Shayla and Rory. They are not new characters in this series and so I was immediately drawn in and rooting for them to work it out. They are well-written characters as are all the characters. Shayla and Rory are both very stubborn people and so working out some of their issues is hard for them and funny. Shayla stands up to Rory unlike anyone else. He is not used to it but he likes it for the most part. The sex is explicit and frequent but not overly so. It added to the story for me. Emotions were engaged the entire time. Shayla and Rory already know each other. They try to deny them but it does not work very well or very long and they continue to grow. There is plenty of action in this story. There are a lot of twists and turns as Shayla tries to figure out who the betrayer is in Rory's pack while also fighting Rory's past beliefs. She is trying to build a relationship with him but has to fight to keep her baby safe and build connections within the pack. This is the sixth instalment of the True Mates series. I would recommend reading the previous ones to get the full story and to understand all of the dynamics. The reader will be missing some things if they have not read the previous stories.
