Humans don't give otherwordly creatures the respect they deserve anymore, and no one knows that better than the Banshee of the Clan O'Grady. For centuries, he's channeled their grief, and even now, when they barely spare him a second glance, he goes out of his way to protect his clan.

Maeebsef also has problems with humans. He's a Gianes, a type of fairy best known for sucking the essence right out of a person. When he meets a human male and spends a few pleasurable moments with him, Maeebsef thinks they're bonded. Unable to forget the incredible experience they shared, Maeebsef leaves his home and follows the man into the busy streets of New York.

Lost and utterly confused, Maeebsef comes across O'Grady. Together, they go in search of Maeebsef's human, but manage to find themselves in the process.

A.M. Riley pens an interesting urban fantasy story in this novella about longing, loneliness and redemption. Filled with odd creatures and strange locales, the pace moves along at a rapid rate. However, the characters are underdeveloped, and it's hard to really sympathize with either Maeebsef, who is extremely naive and sullen, or with O'Grady, who seems more interested in his own problems than helping Maeebsef with his ill-conceived quest.

If you're looking for a fresh take on fairies, A.M. Riley's Of the Clan O'Grady will provide an entertaining escape from reality.
