| Jenny Claymore returned to her home for her father's funeral. It was a long trip and unexpected. The trip was trying, especially since she hadn't been home in four years. After her mother died, her father married a tyrant, Lila, who had a son, Ben. When Lila moved in, she talked her father into sending Jenny away to school. She hated Lila, but she'd loved Ben since the day she met him.
Ben wanted to marry Jenny—especially after he found out his step-father had written a new will and left everything to his estranged daughter. He had to help find that will, marry Jenny, and then the entire place would be his. He had competition, however. Dr. Evan Marsh had loved Jenny from afar. He had other run-ins with Ben and his deceased wife. To say he despised Ben was less than accurate. Ms. Bullock has written a book with a tangled, twisted mystery about death, deception, and dishonesty. The perverted trials faced by Jenny were so evident. The story was an interesting horror from almost the beginning. The myriad of trials kept me on my toes throughout the entire book. Conflicting circumstances surrounding the death of her father, as well as the on-going attempts to kill her, proved that "inspirational" doesn't mean "boring"! There were many characters throughout this book. There were not, however, any way of confusion. Bullock's writing style involved several different, poignant actions that I don't usually find when reading an inspirational romance. I loved her writing techniques and how she kept giving her readers new areas to ponder. I highly recommend this book. I will search for her books in the future. The storyline was intense, but cleanly presented. The scriptural references were great without appearing "preachy." You will love the book, I promise!
