| Colleen begins to despise the government and military for keeping her beloved husband, Nolan, away from her. While he's stationed in Afghanistan, she occupies her days with work and friends, and her nights are filled with fantasies that she hopes she will have the chance to act out with Nolan upon his return. Colleen’s time away from her husband has made her lax in her behavior. When Nolan returns, he rushes home to love her. However, he also finds her in need of punishment.
Although the focus of this story seems to be Colleen’s punishment, the love between Colleen as a submissive and her husband Nolan as a dominant is obvious -- which makes the element of BDSM in the story much more pleasurable to read. I would have liked to see the characters described in a bit more detail. The reader is given a sense of Colleen’s personality but very little of her physical characteristics. The opposite is true for Nolan. However, the author’s use of imagery -– especially in the fantasy scene -– is especially descriptive. I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to anyone who wants a brief, almost gentle introduction into the BDSM genre. The author did a great job of tastefully portraying the heroine’s punishment.
