Melissa is touching the clock her grandmother left her when, suddenly, something happens to suck her in. She joins Jeremy who has been trapped in the clock for over sixty years.

Amy O’Connor has penned an excellent fantasy-come-true kind of tale. There are all sorts of openings for us to fill in the details of the tale however we want. Is it a happy ever after? That’s up to us. Did grandmother really trap Jeremy because she was a witch whose advances had been shunned? Or did she save him in the clock for Melissa? Hmmm, I think that depends on what we wish to be true also.

There are stories where the lack of details make it just that much more titillating and fun. This is one of them for me. I found myself smiling throughout the story. We aren’t given a lot of extraneous detail about Jeremy or Melissa. Their lives aren’t the focus of the story, the wonders of the clock are. Is it witchcraft, magic? Seems like it. But, does it matter?

Not in this tale. Ms. O’Connor has had fun and makes this a fantasy that’s easy to read, sexy as heck and sure to bring some smiles. That’s what I like in a book and this author delivers.
