| Gregory is a third grade teacher, married, with fantasies about other men. He's always kept up appearances, keeping a journal instead of acting on his desires. Something about his neighbor Jake has put his cravings on a different level and he's not sure he can keep them under control any longer. His wife wants to start a family but he's afraid to make that commitment.
Rick R. Reed writes a great tale of a man trying to come to terms with his sexuality. Gregory is an interesting man with deep needs and feelings. He also has a sense of honor trying to live up to his responsibilities and the promises he's made. The author doesn't tell us much about the courtship between Rosemary and Gregory. We get the sense that he deeply loves his wife. But it appears that even love can't change the needs and feelings he has to be true to his inner needs. This is a great story of a gay man coming to terms with the reality of needs that supersede his sense responsibility and desire to conform.
