| Thirty years after his mother was viciously murdered Detective. Simon Keirsey is on the trail of another killer who seems to be murdering young women at will. News reporter Holly Duvall keeps showing up where she isn't wanted, like Simon's bedroom. Alice McClure is a feisty young woman who works in the building that used to be Simon's home. Now the Museum of Modern History, she and best friend Jeannie have to keep one step ahead of their demanding boss. Sparks fly when Simon and Alice meet. Can they somehow help one another solve the crimes in spite of their sexual distractions?
Jane Greenhill writes a thrilling tale full of suspense. Numerous possible villains fill the pages with their nasty thoughts and actions. It's hard to guess who the worst of the bunch is until the very end. In the meantime we're treated to an excellent romance filled with the kind of relationships most of us can relate to. The friendship between Alice and Jeannie and their antics at the museum provide some chuckles. The hunt for the murderer is intense but the girls, Alice's mother, and the ghost of Simon's mother provide some welcome diversion from the sick mind of a killer. To be a really good mystery Ms. Greenhill has had to craft her characters well. That she does to keep us on the edge of our seat. Dialogue, plot and the whole storyline are excellent. This is the kind of suspense that is great reading from first page to last. The author writes as well as any whose name may be more recognizable. I haven't read her first three books but I'll remedy that soon 'cause I can't wait to read more of her work.
