With less than a month before their divorce is finalized, Lauren is fed up with her soon to be ex's broken promises to the boys. Lauren does find out that Bill does have a good excuse for not showing up when his body is discovered.Lauren doesn't become aware of Bill's treasonous activities until Jack shows up at her door, armed and thwarting an attempt on her life. These two have to work together to find out who's at the bottom of an international terrorist plot, and they have to do it on the run. I had to read this book twice, just to make sure it was as good as I thought it was on the first go round. The intricate plot lines and the tremendous amount of research that had to take place in order for the book to have the realism this book contains is mind boggling. I could not believe how technically correct this work is. After I finished the book for the second time, I wanted to contact all my friends and demand that they read this book now. The character development and depth makes the reader feel like they have known these people forever. It had humor to ease the darkness of the subject matter, and the relationship between Jack and Lauren was incendiary. This book easily compares to the best of Suzanne Brockman's Troubleshooters series or Lora Leigh's Elite Ops. If the cast of secondary characters are anything to go by, this series is headed for a very long run. Jack's teammates, Rico, Pecos, and his commander Roger Weston, have alpha hotness just oozing off the pages. There's even a Scottish CIA agent, Rash, that makes me just want to bite him. The female cast of characters are stand up fighters as well. No cringing or fainting for these gals, they are a tough lot. I want the second book out NOW. I was heartbroken when I realized I was quickly coming to the end, I just didn't want to leave these wonderful people. Outstanding job, Ms. Saint.
