| Shasta Pasquel is running from her destiny. During the day she uses the gift she was born with to help save the warriors fighting for her planet, despite hating them. At night, she parties and flirts with one man after another. Only during sleep does she find the one man who gives her everything she needs.
While trying to save his best friend, Andev Juno meets the scandalous Shasta Pasquel in the shuttle bay of the med center. Her blood saves Tylan, but when she touches his skin their minds collide. He recognizes her right away; she's the woman he dreams of nightly. Prophecy says Shasta's blood is needed to save the world but there are people who will stop at nothing to see Shasta stopped and the prophecy unrealized. Andev, with the help of Shasta and Tylan, fight to find the conspirators and fulfill the prophecy before time runs out and someone dies. This book was a nice change of pace, where usually the male character is the rake; here we find it is Shasta who has the reputation. All three main characters are burdened with problems they must address during this story. Shasta must realize that her behavior is a way to avoid taking responsibility her family legacy demands. Andev must put away lifelong distrust of family and general distrust of people and give in to love. Tylan struggles to sort out his feelings for Andev and Shasta and what their relationship means for him. Ms. Leeland does a beautiful job of setting up the story line, entwining the lives of three separate people together to save the world. This book has lots of adventure, plot twists, some fighting, some flirting, sweet sex and rough sex and lots of dreaming. A book I didn't want to put down until I knew how it ended. Definite keeper!
