| Vampire Gideon Keel, his human lover and partner Jesse Madding and the woman who loves them both, Emma Coolidge, again get into a situation that takes all of their wit and skill to resolve. Jesse can't eat, work or play with his lovers like he could before being brutally tortured months before. Emma and Gideon are at a crossroads. Either they have to hospitalize Jesse for treatment which he adamantly opposes or cross into another dimension to see if they can prevent the murder of Gideon's former lover Mary Straughn..
The writing duo known as Jamie Craig has gotten even better in this suspense. I think the authors have done a great job building the premise of multiple dimensions and possible travel between them into a feasible part of the storyline. Not many people would be a nemesis to vampire Gideon but Michelle, friend to Jesse and Emma, is. She once staked him and chained him upside down to a cross which didn‘t make him very happy to say the least. She‘s the one who finds the portal between dimensions and is a great secondary character in both. In this book we get to meet and get to know Mary much better as a person and the one who turns Gideon into a vampire who cares about humanity. One Gideon is powerful enough but two is quite a lot to take, especially when the guys overstay their time in the alternate dimension. Action between the two Gideons literally sizzles! Gideon’s character may be the brawn and half the brains of the duo but Jesse is the heart. He’s the kind of character you just want to cuddle with. Seeing him recover from the brutal treatment in the last book is welcome. This is a great read for any fan of eroticism, suspense, great storylines and well done players.
