Mr. L.J. Reynolds owned Mr. Complete Escort Services. Unfortunately, his foster brother, Rhew Burgess, owned At Your Service, also an escort vendor. The blood was bad between them for years since L.J. (Luke’s) foster parents took him in as a young orphan. Lydia Carmichael and Casey Winters, best friends and co-workers, owned Lydia’s Affordable Spa. The connection between the three businesses was paramount in this book. Lydia’s aunt, Tempera, was extremely wealthy and had opened her home to her niece Lydia when her parents died. When Tempera was fooled by an escort from Mr. Complete Escort Services and lost not only a car but a lot of money, she was heartbroken. Lydia was determined to expose the business for its illegal operations and shut down Reynolds’ business.

From the beginning, Luke was aware of what Lydia had in mind because he happened to be in a shop when Lydia and Casey met for coffee and Lydia explained the situation. Luke immediately set up the office in order to cover up that he was the owner. The last thing he wanted was for Lydia to find out about his prior knowledge of her plan. Something happened when he became her escort at several charity events where she was standing in for her Aunt Tempera who was still indisposed.

I had a little bit of difficulty getting involved in the story written by Ms. Sheridon Smythe. However, let me assure you that there was/is a great plot and a manuscript following. It just took me a while to get into it. After I did, the story was well worth the effort and I just didn’t want to put it down. Ms. Smythe had two main characters that were so determined to prove the other wrong that it was challenging to get straight in the beginning. Both those two characters, as well as the myriad of contributing persons, made this not only an interesting storyline, but also very poignant.

The book started slowly but escalated into a great HEA. I recommend it to others.
