President David Windsor and his partner, ex-Secret Service agent Shane Thompson, are adjusting to life in the White House. Shane is now considered the "First Gentleman" and adjusting to taking over some of the duties of the First Lady while still trying to take care of David too. David is having political challenges both on the home front and abroad based on his views of what needs to be done with the military and with the war overseas. They don't always know who they can trust. Can the two men overcome the threats that come with being in the White house and still have a relationship?

This book is the third in the series. It is well written and is very much in line with the first two books. The plot is well thought out and brings some interesting and thought provoking views as to domestic and foreign policy. It did tend to be dry in places because of all the political information that was being thrown at me, but I did learn a few things so that is not necessarily a bad thing. Just not good in a romantic read. While we don't really get any more insight into the main characters in this story, we do get a more depth to the sub-characters. One of the reasons I like this author though is that his characters seem a little too perfect. Sometimes I need that over reading about people who are just like me and have the same problems. There are some m/m situations in the book but nothing graphic or uncomfortable. I think this would be the perfect book for someone who likes political intrigue with their romance. But if you don't have a taste for that, this may be a difficult book to read because it is steeped in politics.
