| Elizabeth Shaw, her son Alex, and grandmother Sarah return to a small town in Ohio to start a business. Shunned by many townspeople who remember stories that are seven years old they struggle to make a go of it. Elizabeth faces her own personal crisis as she keeps running into Daniel who was the love of her life then and still seems to be. A lot has changed but too much may have stayed the same for her to be able to step beyond the pain in her life. Perhaps the man who appears at trying times and leaves a feather in his wake may be able to help her.
Zinnia Hope has penned a powerful tale of a small town girl who seems to have to carry not only her own burdens but those left on her shoulders by her mother. Wonderful characters in the form of Janay Durand, nursing home residents Teddy and Melody and many others step in to help someone they don't even know. This is a wonderful faith journey that isn't helped by ministers, the church or even her church going grandmother. The local minister and some church members who don't practice what they preach outside the walls of the church are part of the problem. Strangers and a very patient ex lover help her have the time and caring she needs to heal. Readers may not always agree with the decisions Elizabeth makes on her journey but then that's part of the beauty of the tale. She has to find her own way through her own beliefs to make a life that's full of faith that she can count on. This is a special story that's a joy to read.
