| Abigail's restaurant, The Coates Inn, is in trouble. Business is seriously dwindling, and when talented chef extraordinaire, Storm Dupree asks for a spot in turning her kitchen around Abigail is ready to try something new. Storm's cooking is both delectable and erotic, an aphrodisiac and delight for the senses. However, Abigail becomes enamored with more than Storm's skills in the kitchen. He serves up a delightful smorgasbord of mouth watering treats in the bedroom as well. Embarking on a reawakening of her restaurant, her sexuality, her mind and her heart, Abigail learns how much fun yet complex cooking with Storm can be. She engages in an energetic mix of bed partners and experiences as she attempts to find the exact recipe and combination that will lead her to happiness.
I am a huge fan of Emma Holly and Cooking up a Storm is one of her books that won me over. Storm opens the floodgates that lead Abigail towards experimenting in her sexuality, a task she is eager to work on, especially after ending a particularly safe and boring sexual relationship. I appreciated that Storm was also looking for a change, a partner who is more in tune with his desire for prolonged and quality sex rather than a mere fast and furious mating of the bodies. When he meets Abigail, Storm is attracted to her adventurous spirit and is excited to introduce her to the pleasures of food and lust. Abigail seems to have an intuition about Storm's deepest fantasies and together they set about bringing each other to a higher level with each interlude. Emma Holly carries through with her amazing plot, intense descriptions of every emotion vivid detail of action that will drive your imagination crazy with the imagery and eloquence of her writing. I enjoyed the way Abigail was able to go outside of her comfort zone in many instances, proving that experimentation can be an aphrodisiac of itself, and it was interesting the way that the experienced Storm was kept on his toes by Abigail's rendezvous and self-exploration. While the story isn't a traditional love story of monogamy and a quick happily ever after, those that want an extremely hot romantic read of unconventional courtship will enjoy this classic from Ms. Holly.
