Sometimes Ronna Mitchell doesn't feel comfortable touching people because of her psychic abilities, but the moment Officer Matt Holloway steps into her booth at the carnival where she's moonlighting as a palm reader, she can't help but offer him a free reading. Yet what she sees surprises her, though she knows by now not to be surprised by anything because life works in mysterious ways.

Officer Matt Holloway is trailing a hit man in order to stop him from hitting his next target. Ducking into a palm reader's booth to avoid being spotted by his quarry, he comes face to face with Ronna. Yet little does he know that one chance meeting could affect his future.

Vivi Andrews is a great author, and again has proven how marvellous her writing truly is. Through this story, Ms. Andrews has blended a sweet romance with two interesting characters that both have a need to protect someone they barely know. The plot and dialogue was well written, and considering it was such a short story there was plenty of detail when it comes to psychics and the dangers they can face. What I liked so much about both characters was that they were willing to risk their own lives to save someone they barely know.

In conclusion, although this book is number five in this series; it can be read as a stand-alone and had an ending that would make many wish they could see into the future. Well done to this author for creating such a great novella.
