C.J. Wilson is in a bind. If she can't find a way to stop the Dutton Industries board meeting, she will lose the land that was owned by her father and mother, the land she loves and cherishes. She's written letters and tried everything within her power to get the CEO of Dutton to listen, but to no avail. Her last solution: to kidnap Luke Dutton! It's a drastic measure to be sure, and an unplanned one, but she wants to show him the land and to help him understand why the land is so important to her.

Luke Dutton is bored helping his father run Dutton Industries. He's a cowboy at heart and longs to return to his home away from the big city. When C.J. shows up, he's a bit scared at first when she brandishes a gun, but when he realizes it's not loaded, he's more amused than anything. He's also interested in seeing what else C.J. is going to pull. When she herds him into his helicopter and takes off, Luke is about to discover he's in for the ride of his life. What starts off as fun and games quickly turns into love for Luke. But what does C.J. feel for the man she assumes is trying to take her land?

If you're in the mood for a straightforward contemporary romance with a few twists and turns, plenty of romance, and a sexy hero and smart heroine, you can't go wrong with The Corporate Cowboy. Kathryn Anne Dubois has written a smart, touching, and exciting story. The plot is of course a bit far-fetched, but that's what makes it all the better! It's so unbelievable that it really makes the situation between Luke and C.J. that much more interesting. Wait until you find out what C.J. stands for, that's a real treat Ms. Dubois keeps hidden during the story. Plenty of surprises combined with a genuinely romantic and emotional love story between two people who have had a tough time trusting others leads to a great story that will have you hooked. This is the first story I've read by this author, but I can guarantee, it won't be my last.
