| What's a woman to do when she wakes from a coma to find two men vying for her attention? For Clare Boneli cooking is her solace. Jonathan Harris has given her a beginning in her own TV cooking show. Brady Langston has illustrated her popular cookbooks. Both men seem to hold a piece of her heart. But she can't remember them from before the accident that caused her amnesia. Memories of happier times and sadder times seem to be returning. How can she ever choose between these adorable and adoring men?
Kathryn Shay weaves a fantastic tale of a person's worst nightmare. As an amnesiac Clare has to come face to face with her life and how she's lived it through sporadic memories. People she remembers as friends seem to look at her differently. Even her sister seems to be leery of their relationship. The author builds Clare's life bit by bit in a way that's fascinating until she finally sees that fateful night of her accident as it happened. This book is full of characters and dialogue that make it memorable. Clare becomes a new person, a stronger person, with the support of many forgiving and caring people. The psychotherapist, Anna Summers, is a tribute to the best in her profession as she guides but doesn't try to control Clare's journey of self discovery. Like in real life, there are those who hold grudges no matter what and those who have forgiving hearts that help her. I literally couldn't put this book down as the story unfolds. The author builds the characters so well the reader can almost guess which man she will choose. But the suspense of finding out exactly what happened the night Clare had her accident is superbly done. I can heartily recommend this as a book you'll get lost in.
